Nigerian singer and actor, Yhemo Lee, recently shared a heartwarming tale about his instrumental role in bringing together rising Afrobeats star Asake and renowned artist Olamide.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Yhemo Lee recounted their remarkable 13-year-long friendship and expressed his astonishment when Olamide decided to sign Asake.
It all started when Yhemo Lee recorded a song featuring DanDizzy and YKB.
When Olamide came across the track, he was instantly captivated and reached out to Yhemo Lee.
Initially, Olamide expressed his interest in collaborating with DanDizzy and requested his contact details.
During their online conversation, Yhemo Lee passionately advocated for Asake, hoping that Olamide would consider featuring him, unaware of the incredible opportunity that lay ahead.
Yhemo Lee vividly remembered Olamide asking him to send an audio file of Asake’s song titled “Omo Ope.”
Without any delay, Asake recorded his part and swiftly sent it back to Yhemo Lee.
To everyone’s surprise, Olamide began discussing promotional strategies and, within just two days, expressed his desire to sign Asake to his renowned record label, YBNL.
Filled with excitement, Yhemo Lee wasted no time and promptly visited Olamide’s residence, where the contract awaited their arrival.
To everyone’s delight, Asake signed the documents on the same day, marking a significant milestone in his blossoming music career.
