Dominica Chinwe, a lady who claims to be a close friend of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made startling allegations against Wunmi, the artist’s widow, accusing her of orchestrating a dirty campaign that nearly ruined her life.
In a fresh interview with social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM), Dominica revealed that she suffered emotional distress for over two years due to Wunmi’s alleged betrayal and manipulation, which included false accusations and instigated violence.
Dominica’s revelations come hours after she shared her experience regarding the controversial NDLEA raid involving Mohbad, during which she said the late singer was brutalised by officers. Now, she claims her fallout with Wunmi began shortly after the incident.
“What I’m about to share now, I can swear with any juju because Wunmi almost destroyed my life. I was depressed for about two years because she made life miserable for me,” Dominica said during the interview.
She recounted that after they were released from the NDLEA office, Wunmi pressured her to lie to Naira Marley, asking her to falsely claim she saw the agency give Mohbad poison.
“She told me to tell Naira Marley that I saw NDLEA give Mohbad something to drink, but I refused. Naira Marley had called to ask me directly, and I told him the truth that I didn’t see anything like that. Wunmi barged into my house after that, shouting and accusing me of betraying her and Mohbad,” she said
Dominica explained that Mohbad had merely asked for water while in custody and drank from a bottle on the table, which she later finished herself. At the time, she said tensions had reduced due to a viral video drawing public attention to the incident.
Dominica claimed Wunmi later accused her of being the controversial gossip blogger Gistlover, and of leaking information to blogs, including NaijaEverything. According to her, a false story emerged alleging that she was dating Mohbad and pregnant with his child, a claim that deeply affected her.
“Wunmi was right beside me in my room when the blog post came out. I showed her, and she said I should use it for clout. She even tried to repost it. I grabbed my phone, messaged the blog, and they deleted the post and apologized,” she added.
However, that didn’t stop the fallout. Dominica said Wunmi went behind her back and told their mutual friends, including her housemates, that she was leaking private information to Gistlover, especially about influencer Papaya.
“Papaya and a guy ganged up and beat me while others watched and even hyped them. They made a video asking me to confess. It was humiliating. Wunmi was the one I introduced to all of them as my friend, so it was easy for them to believe everything she said,” she tearfully added.
