A Nigerian woman called out a suit vendor after receiving the wrong size despite paying ₦240,350 for a custom order.
In a post shared on the popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that she ordered a suit and a cowl neck top from the brand @29byAdele on April 10, 2025, with the total cost pegged at ₦240,350.
She paid ₦200,000 on April 10 and the remaining ₦40,350 the following day.
She explained that while another brand she patronized requested virtual measurements via video call and delivered perfectly fitting clothes, @29byAdele never requested virtual measurements.
Instead, they asked for her friend’s size—size 14—and later blamed her for providing the wrong size after delivering an ill-fitting suit.
Her statement: “Good afternoon, guys. I ordered a suit and a cowl neck top from @29byAdele on April 10, 2025, costing ₦240,350 in total. I paid ₦200,000 on the 10th and the remaining ₦40,350 on the 11th. We had a conversation on Wednesday where they asked for my friend’s size, which is size 14. I also patronized another brand that did a virtual measurement via video call, and the outfit fit perfectly. @29byAdele didn’t ask for virtual measurements—just my friend’s size.”
“I contacted them immediately after my friend gave feedback, but they then started asking for virtual measurements—something they should have requested before payment. They’re trying to blame us for giving the wrong size. The trouser is too big and the suit is too tight; it cannot be adjusted.
“The confirmed size is 14, as verified by a designer in Canada. I spoke with their representative on Wednesday, who said the delivery would be on Friday—I should have known something was wrong.”
