The body of late former President Muhammadu Buhari was on Tuesday brought out of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft upon arrival at the Umar Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina.
The aircraft, which conveyed his remains from London, touched down around noon.
A brief but solemn military ceremony followed as soldiers carried the casket draped in Nigeria’s national flag.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led a federal delegation at the airport to receive the body. Also present were governors, ministers, lawmakers, and other top officials.
Buhari’s body is scheduled to be taken to his hometown, Daura, for final interment later today, with funeral prayers to be held before burial.
