Tragic Incident: Las Vegas Family Devastated as Toddler Fatally Shoots Himself at Caregiver's Home
A heartbreaking incident has left a Las Vegas family in mourning as a toddler tragically and accidentally shot himself at a caregiver's residence over the weekend.
The unfortunate event occurred when 2-year-old Jaiangelis Stevenson found access to a firearm and unintentionally discharged it in a bedroom near Nellis Air Force Base, around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Immediate measures were taken to rush the young boy to University Medical Center, but despite the efforts, he was pronounced dead, as reported by KLAS.
In response to this devastating incident, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has initiated an investigation into the matter to determine if any possible abuse or neglect was involved.
According to Jaiangelis' aunt, Paris Box, the toddler was under the care of a family member while his mother was at work when the tragic shooting took place. The family is now grappling with immense grief and sorrow, as reported by 8 News Now.

The family is working on accepting what happened, Box added.
“A child was shot with someone else's gun and that is negligence, but I don't know what happened,” she said.
“Because I know everyone's heart involved, I don't have hate in my heart, I'm disappointed a little bit, but I know that was not meant to happen.”
