Tragic Incident: Woman Fatally Stabbed by House Help in Kilifi County, Kenya
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Rahab Karisa, a 30-year-old woman holding the esteemed position of chief officer for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, met a tragic fate at the hands of her house help in Mnarani, Kilifi county, Kenya. The incident unfolded following a heated argument.
On a fateful morning, Thursday, July 20, 2023, Karisa’s lifeless body was discovered in her chamber, sending shockwaves through the community. An autopsy conducted at Kilifi county hospital on Friday, July 21, revealed the harrowing details of the attack. Karisa had sustained a deep and fatal cut that partially severed her lungs and punctured an artery, leading to her untimely demise. She was to celebrate her 31st birthday on July 22.
Confirming the incident, Fatuma Hadi, the chief of police for Kilifi County, disclosed that investigations were already underway. The house help responsible for the heinous act had mysteriously disappeared after the tragedy, but the authorities were diligently following crucial leads in their pursuit to apprehend the suspect.
According to accounts, Karisa had recently returned from a trip to Italy before the confrontation with her house help took place. In a desperate bid to escape, the house help was observed by a private guard attempting to flee over the boundary wall when morning security personnel arrived for their shift. Notably, Karisa’s child was found with the fleeing house help.
Putting to rest rumors, Hadi clarified that the suspect had not taken her own life. The body found hanging from a tree in Takauku was identified as a different individual, not the house help involved in the unfortunate incident.
Tragically, the motive behind this horrific event seems to have stemmed from a disagreement over house expenditures while Karisa was away in Italy. A family member, requesting anonymity, revealed that Karisa had questioned the house help about exceeding the agreed budget, igniting the devastating quarrel and ultimately leading to the fatal stabbing.
