A tragic incident, on Sunday, occurred in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba’ State after a young man was allegedly beaten to death following accusations of an extramarital affair with a pregnant married woman.
The incident which sent a shock wave through Jalingo metropolis, occurred in Samunaka community.
The victim, identified as Victor James, was reportedly caught in a compromising situation with a woman said to be seven months pregnant and married to a well-known local businessman, popularly known as Alhaji Bash.
According to eyewitnesses, the pair were discovered in the woman’s home early this morning, triggering outrage among community members.
In the chaos that later ensued, James was allegedly doused with hot water and brutally assaulted. He later succumbed to the injuries sustained during the attack.
At the time of filing this report, the disturbing incident has left residents in shock and sparked heated debate on social media.
Community leaders and residents are now calling on law enforcement agencies to launch a full scale investigation and ensure that justice is served for all parties involved.
