On that notable day, November 11, 2018, Banky publicly announced his intention to run for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat, representing the Modern Democratic Party. Although he pursued the same position in the 2023 elections, this time under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he faced disappointment as the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus, emerged victorious.
Throughout Adesua's interview, she emphasized the initial concerns and disturbances she experienced when confronted with Banky's political aspirations. “When Banky expressed his interest in venturing into politics, I couldn't help but feel a sense of worry and disturbance,” Adesua shared. “However, I firmly hold the belief that purpose should outweigh fear, and I am wholeheartedly dedicated to witnessing Banky fulfill his purpose. He can count on my unwavering support, without a doubt.”
