Nollywood actor and director Tope Adebayo, son of renowned actor Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello) and brother to filmmaker Femi Adebayo, has addressed recent speculation linking him romantically to actress Fathia Balogun.
In a recent interview, Tope expressed dismay over the rumor, revealing that a fellow industry colleague was responsible for spreading the misinformation
“I’m very sad at the moment because there has been a false rumour spread about me and Fathia,” he said. “I don’t know what to do because an actor has accused me of dating and having sex with Fathia.”
He clarified that although he shares a close relationship with the actress, there is no romantic involvement between them. According to Tope, their connection is rooted in mutual respect and professional support.
“I and Fathia are very close to each other to the extent that nobody can find out why we love each other. I and Fathia will be together forever because she is my helper. When I wanted to become a movie director, some actors tried to discourage me, but Fathia was the one who stood by me, and she gave me the opportunity to direct five of her movies at the time without having any past experience about directing movies before,” he said.
Fathia Balogun, a veteran in the Nigerian film industry, is widely known for her past marriage to actor Saheed Balogun. She remains single and has not commented publicly on the matter at the time of this report.
Tope Adebayo, meanwhile, continues to advance in his filmmaking career, with several acclaimed projects to his name.
