Former Spain international Sergio Ramos has backed Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé to win as many as five Ballon d’Or titles during his career.
The former Madrid star cites the Frenchman’s consistent brilliance and individual impact in his debut season at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, the Monterrey defender, who shared a dressing room with Mbappé at Paris Saint-Germain between 2021 and 2023, expressed strong belief in the 26-year-old’s long-term potential.
“If it were up to me, I think Kylian would have the peace of mind of taking home four or five Ballons d’Or in five or 10 years,” Ramos said.
“He has the talent, even if Madrid didn’t have a year full of titles, he had a great season and showed that he was a player of this level.”
Mbappé’s first season in Madrid has been statistically exceptional. The forward scored 43 goals in 56 appearances across all competitions, securing the European Golden Shoe and setting a new scoring record at the Bernabéu.
He also played key roles in Madrid’s Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup triumphs.
Although Real Madrid fell short of a clean sweep of trophies, Mbappé’s individual brilliance has kept him firmly in the Ballon d’Or conversation for 2025.
