“You can be whatever you want to be in life if you make commitment and determination your watchwords. As students in Ogun State, we want you to be obedient and good examples, always cooperate with your teachers for you to have a better performance,” he said.

In their submission, the principals of Ansar-ud-deen High School (Senior), Ijebu-Ode, Mr. Olaleke Moseje; Ikenne Community High School, Junior and Senior, Ikenne, Mr. Adefala Aina and Mrs. Helen Ilori, respectfully; as well as the principal of Sagamu High School, Joseph Osiba, lauded the ministry for the pre-resumption orientation, assuring that they were fully ready for the academic session.

Speaking on behalf of other teachers, Mrs Odufuwa of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School and Samsudeen Alebiosu of Ansar-ud-deen High School, pointed out that they must inculcate value in learners, promising to do their best in upholding government legacy.

The Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, who monitored Wesley Nursery and Primary School, Ikenne, in Ikenne Local Government Area of the state, said parents must monitor the health of their wards before taking them to school, while teachers should always check their books to aid academic excellence.

Majekodunmi explained that the monitoring exercise was not meant to witch-hunt the teachers and pupils, but to assess the level of preparedness at resumption in terms of a conducive environment, as well as giving priority to their welfare.

He advised parents and teachers to always prioritise the pupils’ performances, as they are future leaders, adding that Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration is committed to further improving the education sector.
