Rivers crisis: Fubara visits Tinubu in Lagos
Written by Areatatafo

The suspended governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at his residence in Lagos State.

Tinubu has been in Lagos since last week, where he commissioned several projects.

The President will remain in the state until the Sallah celebrations are over.

Fubara’s meeting with Tinubu may not be unconnected to the ongoing state of emergency in Rivers State.

Tinubu declared the state of emergency for six months and suspended Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State Assembly.

The President has since appointed a sole administrator to preside over the state.

Fubara recently met with his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike, to seek reconciliation.

Wike was instrumental in Fubara becoming governor despite stiff opposition from some stakeholders in the state.
