At least seven people, including a pregnant woman, have been killed in fresh bandit attacks on two villages in Katsina State.
The attacks took place on Sunday in Kanikawa community, Kurfi Local Government Area, and Gidan Gado village in Funtua LGA.
According to a post by security analyst Bakatsine on X on Monday, four people were killed in Kanikawa during an afternoon raid, while three others lost their lives later that night in Gidan Gado. Several residents were also abducted.
“ Yesterday afternoon, bandits attacked Kanikawa community in Kurfi LGA, Katsina State, killing four people, including a pregnant woman. Later at night, they stormed Gidan Gado village in Funtua LGA, killed 3 more and abducted several residents,” Bakatsine wrote.
As at the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
