Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two young men for allegedly stealing a Mikanogenerator battery from a church in Yola.

The suspects, identified as Dad Yusuf and Gibson Husseini, both residents of Upper Luggere in the Jimeta area of Yola North Local Government, were apprehended by officers attached to the State Intelligence Department (SID).

According to police reports, the suspects stole a 100Ah Mikano generator battery from LCCN Cathedral, Jimeta, around 11:00 p.m. on June 23, 2025.

They were arrested five days later, on June 28, and have since confessed to the crime.

Police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest and stated that efforts are ongoing to trace other possible accomplices and recover additional stolen property.

He further assured that the suspects would be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
