A pilgrim from Plateau State on pilgrimage in Mecca, Hajiya Jamila Muhammad, died on Monday.
Hajiya Jamila was said to have died as a result of diabetic complications.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Executive Secretary Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Daiyabu Dauda, made available to journalists in Jos on Tuesday.
“From God we are, and to him, we shall on return with heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah.
“Plateau State has lost one of her female pilgrim, Hajiya Jamila Muhammad on Monday, 2nd, June, 2025, at the King Abdul’aziz hospital Mecca as a result of diabetic complications according to the doctors.
“When the issue was reported to me, I directed the medical team to immediately take her to the hospital for proper medication inline with the directives of our Governor, Caleb Mutfwang,” parts of the statement read.
The sxecutive secretary extended his heartfelt condolences to the Government of Plateau State, her immediate family, friends and relatives for this irreparable loss.
He also prayed that Allah forgive her shortcomings and admit her into highest place in paradise.
Dauda further disclosed that the Amirul Hajj as well as some other officials alongside relatives of the deceased, attended her funeral prayers at the grand mosque, after which she was buried according to Islamic rites.
