Aruna Quadri and Olajide Omotayo will begin their quest for medals in the table tennis event of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on Saturday (today).
Aruna will be up against Romania‘s Eduard Ionescu in a first-round match of the men’s singles event.
The 35-year-old made it to the third round four years ago in Tokyo.
He reached the quarter-finals of the same event in Rio 2016.
Omotayo will do battle with Iran‘s Noshad Alamiyan in another first-round pairing.
The 29-year-old will be looking to make it beyond the first round this time around after his early ouster in Tokyo 2020.
He was thrashed in four straight sets, 11-7 11-9 11-6 11-5 by Tiago Apollonia of Portugal.
