Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged the club to prioritize the signing of Victor Osimhen, branding the Nigerian forward a “transformational signing” and the “perfect” fit for a misfiring United frontline.
Despite hefty investments in Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, United’s 2024/25 campaign has been hampered by an inefficient attack.
Bruno Fernandes, primarily a playmaker, leads the scoring charts with 17 goals, while Garnacho is the only other player in double figures.
Højlund and Zirkzee have managed just 15 goals between them.
Saha believes Osimhen, who helped fire Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years before a productive loan spell at Galatasaray, would offer the quality, personality, and big-game mentality United currently lack.
“He’s scored goals at every level. He’s got Champions League experience, and the charisma this United squad desperately needs,” Saha told Mega Dice.
“He’d be a transformational signing… exactly what we need.”
Osimhen’s availability is likely to attract attention across Europe, but reports suggest personal terms have already been preliminarily discussed, with a £50 million price tag being floated.
