The lavish wedding of Kene, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Obi Jackson, continues to dominate conversations on social media, especially following the appearance of Yoruba monarch, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
The traditional ceremony, dubbed #Kego2025, gained widespread attention after footage emerged online showcasing the extravagant arrival of the couple. The groom, son of industrialist Emma Bishop Okonkwo, made a dramatic entrance in full traditional regalia, complete with a lion’s head draped over his shoulder. The bride followed in equally regal fashion, seated atop a golden throne that drew admiration from viewers both in Nigeria and abroad.
Adding to the fanfare, the Ooni of Ife was seen in attendance at the celebration, warmly greeting the bride and mingling with her family members. His presence stirred conversations, with some online users questioning why he was noticeably absent from another high-profile event—the traditional wedding of Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, which recently took place in Lagos.
It’s worth noting that actress Iyabo Ojo had earlier posted a video of herself, her daughter Priscilla, and socialite Chioma Goodhair visiting the Ooni to hand-deliver the wedding invitation. While the king did not personally attend that event, his queen and an official representative were present on his behalf.
Below is the video capturing the Ooni of Ife at Kene Jackson’s grand wedding celebration:
