Aliyu Zubairu has stepped down from his position as head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side, El-Kanemi Warriors.
Zubairu had been in charge of the Maiduguri-based club for two years.
The young tactician masterminded El-Kanemi Warriors’ promotion to the Nigeria National League, NNL, in his first season at the helm.
He also guided the club to victory in the President Federation Cup last year.
“After careful consideration, I’ve decided not to renew my contract, which expires at the end of my two-year tenure,” he declared.
“This decision stems from my confidence that I’ve made a meaningful contribution to the club’s growth and development.”
Zubairu will now focus on his role with the Flying Eagles.
The Flying Eagles secured third place at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt last month.
They are set to compete at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this year.
