A notorious scammer operating in Abuja has finally been exposed after allegedly luring unsuspecting women with fake modelling jobs and stealing their phones.
The incident was shared in a viral TikTok video by a lady who narrowly escaped being his next victim.
According to her, the man often disguises as a photographer or makeup artist, using fake identities—sometimes stolen from other women—to deceive potential victims.
She recounted how the scammer contacted her after a TikTok live session using an account named “Precious Makeover.” Believing she was speaking with a woman, she responded and was invited for a photoshoot.
Although she initially mentioned that she wasn’t a model, he pressured her until she agreed.
“I’m the lady that almost fell victim for this guy,” she began. “I got a message from someone with an account named Precious Makeover. I replied the message and we started talking. Mind you, it was this guy that was texting me but pretending to be the lady.”
She continued, “He called me for a photoshoot, and when we started shooting, he said I should help him with my phone—that he wants to call someone. So I gave him my phone, but I was very vigilant with it.”
She also revealed that her friend’s phone was taken under a similar excuse. “I called a friend, and he took her phone to take photos and went outside,” she added.
Luckily, the lady sensed something was wrong and followed him, leading to a confrontation. With the help of others, they managed to catch him.
In her words, “The person you’re seeing here, he’s a scammer. He’s scamming people on TikTok. He’ll tell you he is a photographer or a makeup artist, that he wants to use you as a model. He’ll use your picture and not pay you your money, and be using your pictures to scam people.”
She concluded with a shocking revelation: “We collected his phone, naked him, he went home with only boxers.”
The video has since gone viral, prompting widespread outrage and calls for greater vigilance among young women, especially those frequently approached online for modelling or promotional jobs.
