Abisi Emmanuel Ezechukwu, widely known as Nasty Blaq, a beloved skit maker and content creator has recently expressed his frustration with some Nigerians who hastily label skit makers as fraudsters and ritualists, merely because they’ve been able to afford expensive and luxurious cars.
Nasty Blaq pointed out the irony that while fans thoroughly enjoy the entertaining skits they produce, they seem reluctant to see them live a life of luxury. He argued that musicians who purchase expensive cars are celebrated, yet skit makers face criticism for doing the same.
Taking to his Instastory, he shared his thoughts, saying: “Sometimes, I feel like some fans just want us to bring them joy without experiencing joy in our own lives.”
He went on to emphasize the unjust treatment skit makers often face, remarking, “I don’t understand how someone can do skits for over 5 years, finally buy a car, and then people start accusing them of engaging in fraudulent activities and rituals.”
Drawing a comparison, Nasty Blaq pointed out that musicians like Seyi Vibez achieve fame and success in less than a year, and when they buy houses or cars, everyone congratulates them. However, when skit makers accomplish similar milestones in 3-4 years, they are met with negative assumptions of being involved in cyber fraud or rituals.
Nasty Blaq’s message sheds light on the unfair biases and judgments that some skit makers encounter, and he encourages fans to show equal support and celebration for their successes. Let’s remember that these talented content creators work hard to entertain us and deserve appreciation for their achievements without baseless accusations.
