Najeriya ta dauki babban mataki a fannin kare namun daji ta hanyar kaddamar da Tsarin Kula da Giwaye na Kasa (NEAP) na farko, wanda zai gudana daga 2024 zuwa 2034.
Tsarin, wanda aka tsara tare da hadin gwiwar kungiyar kula da giwaye ta duniya Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI), na da nufin karfafa kokarin kare giwaye da sauran dabbobin da ke fuskantar barazanar karewa.
Dr. Ibrahim Goni, Babban Kula da Hukumar Gandun Daji ta Kasa (NPS), sbi ne ya sanar da wannan sabon tsari a Abuja ranar Litinin, 23 ga Disamba.
Ya bayyana cewa shirin wani bangare ne na shirye-shiryen kula da namun daji dake barazanar bacewa daga doron kasa.
Dr Goni yace daya daga cikin manyan nasarorin da hukumar ta cimma a 2024 shi ne ceto wasu taauyaaye da ake kira (African Grey Parrots) guda 25, wanda masu fataucin dabbobin daji suka kama ba bisa ka’ida ba, wadanda tuni aka maido su matsugunansu na asali a jihar Cross Rivers.
Ya bayyana cewa an samu ci gaba sosai a ayyukan dakile farautar dabbobi ba bisa ka’ida ba, inda aka kama mutane 621, aka gurfanar da 466, sannan aka yi gargadi ga wasu 94.
Ya ce wannan karin matakan da ake dauma yana nuna kudurin hukumar na hana ayyukan da ke barazana ga karewar halittu.
