Late former President, Muhammadu Buhari finally buried amid tears in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
It was learned that the janaza (Islamic funeral prayer) for former President Muhammadu Buhari was held around 4:50 pm on Tuesday, after which his body was buried in line with Islamic customs.
His remains had earlier been flown from London to Katsina aboard a Nigerian Air Force jet, accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and other senior government officials.
Tight security surrounded the arrival, with armoured vehicles, DSS agents, and heavily armed soldiers lining key routes into Daura.
President Bola Tinubu, who touched down in Katsina that same afternoon, attended the burial along with First Lady Senator Remi Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
A delegation from the Republic of Niger was also present at the ceremony, highlighting Buhari’s diplomatic reach beyond Nigeria.
