Karimot Ogunbayo, the sister-in-law of the late Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has addressed a trending video showing the singer being pushed in a wheelchair by several women, alongside fellow artist Zlatan Ibile.
The resurfaced video has reignited public interest in the controversial events that surrounded Mohbad’s final moments.
Just days ago, new footage emerged showing music promoter Sam Larry allegedly confronting and threatening Mohbad, reportedly wielding a cane. In response, activist Verydarkman offered a reward for more footage related to the incident.
Reacting to the developments, Karimot who previously expressed concerns over threats to her life shed light on disturbing behind-the-scenes incidents. She claimed that Sam Larry showed up on the day in question armed with a gun and intended to kill Mohbad. According to her, it was only Zlatan Ibile’s refusal to leave the scene that stopped him.
Karimot alleged that Mohbad was brutally assaulted over a yet-to-be-disclosed amount of money, which he was allegedly forced to pay before his passing. She further claimed the funds were sent to Naira Marley, whom she accused of doing nothing to stop the abuse.
She also identified others who were allegedly present during the assault individuals named Lifestyle, OG, and Bode stating that they too were beaten by Sam Larry before fleeing the scene, leaving Mohbad behind.
In her emotionally charged statement, Karimot dared Zlatan to deny her version of events, especially regarding the alleged firearm. She stated the incident occurred on June 25, 2023, and called for justice, demanding that all those involved be held accountable for the harm done to Mohbad.
