In other news, There is growing tension in the Ogwashi-Uku community, located in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, following the disappearance of four children who were allegedly abducted by suspected child traffickers.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday at the Umuokwe quarters, where three unidentified women had recently secured a room on short notice. According to local reports, the women allegedly enticed the children with promises of biscuits and lured them away under false pretenses.
Concern grew when the children were not seen playing around the compound as usual. Alarmed neighbors checked the women’s apartment, only to discover that the occupants had vanished, taking the children with them.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the case, revealing that the landlady who rented out the apartment to the women has been detained for questioning.
“The children were taken just three days after the women moved in,” Edafe said. “The troubling part is that the landlady failed to collect any identification—no names, no phone numbers, no tenancy agreement. Her negligence is suspicious, which is why she has been arrested.”
As investigations continue, the community remains on high alert while law enforcement works to locate the missing children and apprehend the suspects behind the disturbing act.
