Manchester United’s latest addition, Patrick Dorgu, has signed a deal worth around £40,000 per week, making him one of the club’s lowest-paid first-team players.
The 20-year-old left wing-back was officially unveiled at Old Trafford ahead of United’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last Sunday.
The Red Devils paid Lecce an initial £25 million for the Danish talent, with an additional £4 million in performance-related add-ons included in the deal.
Despite his promising potential, Dorgu’s weekly wage is lower than most of his new teammates.
Only Altay Bayindir and Kobbie Mainoo earn less, while third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton (£45k) and rising star Alejandro Garnacho (£50k) take home more.
Even veteran defender Jonny Evans earns £65k per week, significantly higher than the young full-back.
United made room for Dorgu’s arrival by offloading two of their highest earners in the January transfer window.
Marcus Rashford moved to Aston Villa, with the club covering up to 90% of his £325k per week salary, while Antony joined Real Betis, who are paying at least 84% of his £200k wages.
