A Nigerian man has taken to social media to express regret over an oath he made with his then-girlfriend at the age of 19, which may be affecting their love lives years later.
In a post shared on the popular platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the man, now 35, revealed that he and his ex-girlfriend, now 36, once swore that neither of them would find true love unless they stayed together.
Years after going their separate ways, he lamented that both of them are still single, wondering if the oath could be responsible for their prolonged singleness.
He wrote: “I took an oath when I was 19 with my then-girlfriend. The declaration was that no one would find true love if we didn’t stick to each other.”
