Manchester United have offered Real Betis a surprise shared-ownership deal for winger Antony, in a bid to offload the Brazilian while managing their wage bill under manager Ruben Amorim.
Antony, 25, impressed during a half-season loan at Betis in early 2025, notching nine goals and reigniting interest from the La Liga outfit.
However, a permanent transfer remains financially out of reach for the Spanish side, who have qualified for next season’s UEFA Europa League after a sixth-place league finish.
According to ABC Sports, United are pushing to sell the former Ajax star this summer and have set an asking price of €35 million.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Bayer Leverkusen, under ex-United manager Erik ten Hag, have shown interest.
Still, the player is said to favour staying in Spain.
To bridge the financial gap, United are now proposing a staggered deal: Antony would return to Betis on loan for the 2025/26 season under a shared ownership structure.
The plan includes an initial €20 million fee for partial rights, with Betis required to increase their ownership share over time, ultimately making the deal permanent in 2026.
A sell-on clause in United’s favour is also being discussed.
Talks reportedly took place in the UK this week, according to Football Espana, with both clubs open to finding creative financial solutions.
United are willing to incur a loss on the €95 million they paid Ajax in 2022, prioritising Antony’s departure to fund incoming transfers.
If agreed, the deal would mark a rare co-ownership arrangement in top-tier European football.
