A Nigerian man has shared his harrowing experience in a kidnappers’ den after his abductors demanded a ransom of ₦50 million, but his elder brother offered just ₦75,000.
He revealed this in a post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to him, the moment his brother made the offer, he thought he was as good as dead and suspected that his brother had a personal grudge against him.
He wrote: “When I was kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded ₦50 million as ransom, but my brother negotiated to pay ₦75,000 instead. That was the moment I thought I was a dead man. Because why 75K? I was thinking my brother had beef with me and wanted to use the opportunity… 75K fa!”
Explaining his brother’s decision, he added: “He said it was a strategy to get them to lower the price… at the expense of the beatings and torture I received because of that.”
