A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after protesting the arrest of online personality VeryDarkMan by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), boldly demanding his release while calling for the arrest of President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio instead.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man, dressed in female clothing and holding a microphone, was seen chanting slogans demanding justice for VeryDarkMan.
He was heard saying: “Give us VeryDarkMan, we no go gree,” before adding, “Give us VeryDarkMan, take Akpabio. Give us VeryDarkMan, take Tinubu.”
The dramatic protest comes days after VeryDarkMan was arrested by the EFCC shortly after leaving the GTBank premises in Abuja.
According to the agency, his arrest followed his repeated failure to honor several invitations over more than 40 petitions reportedly filed against him.
As he remains in EFCC custody, several supporters have taken to social media and the streets, demanding his release — with one protester even suggesting a swap involving top government officials.
