Lady who ended 7-year affair with married man laments new partner’s expectation to share financial responsibilities

Lady opens up about her frustrating experience after leaving a seven-year relationship as a side chick to pursue something more serious.

According to her, she ended things late last year in hopes of settling down and soon met a man who seemed perfect.

However, the relationship soon became confusing for her. While he brought her flowers and thoughtful presents, he also seemed to expect her to do the same.

She was taken aback when he didn’t give her money to buy him a Valentine’s gift or anything for his birthday, and even more shocked when he didn’t pay during their dates.

The woman expressed disappointment that he didn’t understand his position as a man.

She wrote …

“I was a side chick for 7 years. Late last year I decided to end the relationship because I was tired of being second best and I wish to get married. I met a guy who told me he was ready to settle down. He’s a gentleman. He opens the door and pulls the chair for me. He buys flowers and presents for me regularly. My problem is he seems to expect me to spend money on him too. On Valentine’s Day he bought me a present and I didn’t buy anything for him because he didn’t give me money. I couldn’t use my own salary. On his birthday the same thing happened. He didn’t give me money to buy him a present. When I take him out on dates he expects me to pay. It seems like he doesn’t understand his position as a man like my ex. Men are providers and women are receivers. A man must never be in a position to let his woman spend her own money. It’s a taboo.”
