A Nigerian lady has gone viral on social media after recounting a shocking and humorous dating experience that ended in heartbreak and unexpected drama.
The X user, identified as @Mizkaffy1, shared how she connected deeply with a man through a dating app, only for the budding relationship to crash immediately after their first physical meeting.
According to her, they had talked for months through calls, texts, and video chats, building what seemed like a promising bond.
However, shortly after the date, the man began ignoring her calls and messages. When he finally responded, his explanation left her stunned.
He told her that he found her attractive but couldn’t continue because he was “scared of light-skinned women”, claiming he had known a lady who suffered from skin cancer due to bleaching and feared having to “spend his money treating cancer” in the future.

“I once dated someone online, and the day we met physically was the day we broke up . The first time I saw him face to face was the last time. We have been talking online for months(phone calls,texts,video calls) planning our future, dreaming big, not knowing the reality was about to set in, a complete heartbreak waiting to happen.
“The connection was deep and sweet. We thought “this is it” or maybe I thought.. We arranged to meet on a weekend in a location close to my place, he gave me a call when he got there and I was there with him shortly.
“We chatted, ate, gisted, and the flow was great, the connection was there, there was no such thing as cold feet, we left the scene, he hopped on the bus for his destination and I went to mine also. I was so happy and couldn’t stop telling my room mate then about how smooth the date went, not knowing that was going to be the the last interesting moment we would have.
“It all started going awol that day, I called him countless times to ask if he got home safely, he didn’t pick up or call back to tell me he was home or if I got home, I was looking forward to his call so we can talk that night about our date, y”all know how the after first date chat dey sweet if you guys clicked.
“Fast forward to the next day I don’t see his call as he would always do in the morning before setting out for work,that was where I sensed the problem,I couldn’t stop asking myself questions like “did I say anything wrong during our date,doesn’t he like me”.
“He finally called around lunch time to tell me he is sorry he was busy,his phone was down and all sort. I said okay, but I saw the drastic change in how he talked to me, I let it slide and told myself to not jump into conclusions. He literally just ghosted me. I calld him afta work that we need to talk, I asked him to be sincere with me about what’s going on because I noticed the change I him after the date, that was when he said he doesn’t have a problem with me,that I am pretty and cool and all that but,he is scared of light girls.

I am not even that light,I no be bororo now trust me till today if I discuss this with my fine we always burst into laughter because what’s that!! That’s was how we went our separate ways o.
“Omo the thing vexed me then but I move me on. Guess who later hooked up with that my same friend I told about him,this same guy,he didn’t know the lady was my friend. Mind you the online dating wasn’t twitter o or instagram,it was a dating app where you have to create an account, put your pictures and about a video or two up,your biography or about you sha.
“So he linked up with another babe in his mind not knowing she is my friend,thank God I talked to my friend about him and send his picture to her that my friend abused the hell out of him and told him “the lady named .. that you turned down after a date because of this reason is my friend, so don’t even think about asking me out”.
