The Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Haruna Ibrahim has called on the Hausa-Fulani community in Zango, Iyara, to give the government maximum support in its fight against cattle rustling, banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery.
Ibrahim made the call on Thursday when he visited the Hausa-Fulani community in Zango, under Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Council boss charged them to expose any stranger who engages in committing crime, noting that the present administration will make life unbearable for those causing havoc in the State.
Ibrahim emphasized the need for the leadership of the Hausa-Fulani communities to clear their names as most crimes were often attributed to them.
“Most crimes like kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed robbery are perpetrated by foreigners who infiltrate our local government.
“Every time there is a kidnapping, the incident is mostly blamed on the Fulani. That is why I deemed it necessary to come here and speak to Fulani leaders about the need to ensure strangers do not come into our local government to perpetrate criminal activities,” the Chairman said.
He commended the efforts of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for improving the security architecture of the state down to the local government areas.
