Festus Keyamo, the former Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, has lent his voice to the discussion surrounding Mmesomma Ejikeme's JAMB score controversy. Today, he emphasized the importance of providing counseling support for her.
In Keyamo's perspective, Mmesomma's actions were likely driven by a lack of awareness regarding the seriousness of her actions. He reflected on his own youthful mistakes, highlighting that many of us made similar errors during our teenage years that went unnoticed.
Recognizing Mmesomma's intelligence, evident from her original JAMB score of 249, Keyamo suggested that her parents should guide her towards issuing a public apology to JAMB, her family, and Nigerians. Once she has done so, he believes she should be granted admission based on her genuine scores.
Keyamo reiterated that anyone perpetuating alternative narratives regarding the issue is not assisting Mmesomma or her family. He urged everyone to close this unfortunate chapter and focus on moving forward, offering it as his heartfelt plea.
Earlier in the day, Prophet Austin Ariole, the General Overseer of Goshen Freedom Tabernacle in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, also expressed the need for Mmesomma to receive counseling, prayer, and support to prevent her from succumbing to feelings of shame and potential thoughts of self-harm.
