The Kebbi State Government has declared Friday, June 27, as a public holiday to mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, 1447 AH.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday by Malami A. Maiyama, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishment, Pension and Training.

According to the statement, the holiday is intended to give residents, particularly public servants, the opportunity to commemorate the start of the new Islamic calendar year.

Normal work is expected to resume on Monday, June 30.

The government urged all public and private institutions in the state to take note of the directive and ensure compliance.
