Adanma Luke, the producer of the ill-fated movie, ‘The Other Side of Life’, has finally broken her silence on the boat accident that led to the death of popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope.
Signature TV reports that Junior Pope, alongside other crew members, tragically passed away after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra state while returning home from movie locations.
Speaking on the unfortunate incident via Instagram Live yesterday, the movie’s producer, Adanma Luke said she blamed herself for taking the movie production to Asaba instead of Lagos.
Meanwhile, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu state has joined in mourning late Nollywood actor, Obumneme Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, saying that Enugu state has lost one of its talented sons.
Governor Mbah said Jnr. Pope’s death came at a time when Enugu state was working hard to develop the creative potentials of youths in the state for self-reliance.
Governor Mbah said this through a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Aka Eze Aka, in Enugu on Saturday night.
The governor described the Igbo-Etiti-born actor’s death alongside three of his colleagues as heart-wrenching and unfortunate, saying he received the news with gloom.

Mbah expressed deep regret about the unfortunate circumstances to which such talented, young Nigerian creative could lose their lives and commiserated with the bereaved families, Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN and the entire Nollywood industry on the loss of their members in an ill-fated boat accident.
He promised that the state would work with the family to ensure a befitting burial for the late movie icon.
The governor stressed that the Enugu State Government had already opened a condolence register for Nigerians to pay their tributes to the late actor.
