A group, Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, today urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to hand over to the military, pointing out that the democratic system of government being practiced by the country has not favoured the nation in any way. The group also said the democratic system of government has failed in all its ramifications.
IPDI National President, Comrade Austin Ozobo, made the call during a chat with our correspondent in Warri.
He said there’s so much corruption, kidnappings, and banditry in the current democratic system.
He stressed that banditry, as well as killings in Northern Nigeria, is all political.
Ozobo, a human rights activist, said, funny enough, the leadership does not have the political will to combat banditry.
While noting that countries like Mali have taken the lead in military government, Comrade Ozobo opined that the military government is needed at the moment to set a standard and move the country forward.
According to Ozobo, “Nigeria is indebted to the tune of 144.86 trillion naira,” while President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making moves to also borrow another 36.15 trillion naira.
He said the Nigerian Senate is just like a rubber stamp and could not speak or advocate better things for the citizens.
