Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has denied claims circulating on social media that he stated his father must complete an eight-year tenure in office.
The viral post, which gained significant attention, suggested that Seyi boldly declared that nothing, not even God, could prevent his father from serving two full terms as president.
The post read in part:
“My Father Will Complete His 8-Year Tenure – Nothing Can Change That. Not Even God.”
The post further suggested that Seyi emphasized Nigerians had the opportunity to oppose his father before he assumed office but failed to do so, implying that any opposition now would be futile.
In response to the circulating claim, Seyi Tinubu took to his Instagram Stories, refuting the statement.
The businessman and socialite stated that he never made such comments and distanced himself from the viral post.
