A heartbreaking incident occurred in Canada‘s Scarborough plaza, resulting in the tragic death of Ifeanyichukwu Oseke, a Nigerian student. The incident took place on Sunday evening near the intersection of Brimley Road and Eglinton Avenue East, according to the Toronto Police.
Toronto Police Service Duty Inspector Jeff Bangild provided details, mentioning that a fight between two individuals erupted in the plaza. One of them sustained critical injuries and required immediate transportation to a nearby hospital. Regrettably, the injured person did not survive. As the investigation into the matter is still ongoing, the victim’s identity remains undisclosed.
CP24 reported that Ifeanyichukwu Oseke passed away while en route to the hospital, leading law enforcement to treat the incident as a homicide. The suspect was observed fleeing the scene alongside another individual; however, no descriptions have been released at this time.
Investigators are urgently seeking witnesses who were present in the busy plaza during the altercation, urging them to come forward with any information they may have. The police have assured the public that they believe the incident to be isolated, posing no immediate risk to public safety.

Regarding the weapon used in the stabbing, law enforcement indicated that it appeared to be some form of “edged weapon.” They are appealing to business owners in the vicinity to review their security footage in the morning, in the hopes of uncovering any valuable evidence that could assist in the homicide investigation.
The unnamed suspect is described by the police as a man with medium-length dark hair, wearing a light-colored tank top, pants, and shoes.
