Written by Areatatafo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has
confirmed the death of four officers ambushed by bandits at Farin-Kasa area of
Chukun LGA in Kaduna state.

On November 18, the agency said suspected Boko Haram
terrorists had ambushed its monitoring team in Kaduna, leaving seven officers
missing.

Afolabi Babawale, NSCDC spokesperson, said the incident
happened while the team was inspecting the national grid installation in
Shiroro, Niger state.

In a statement on Friday, Afolabi said four out of the seven
officers declared missing during the ambush have been found dead.

He said two officers returned injured while one is still
missing after the incident.

He said Ahmed Audi, NSCDC commandant-general, has
commiserated with officers and men of the corps over the incident.

“As of today, out of the seven missing officers, four dead
bodies had been recovered, two men returned back to base unhurt while one
personnel is still missing in action,” he said.

“Ahmed Audi, NSCDC commandant general, saluted the
gallantry, bravery and courage exhibited by the operatives during the ambush,
and pledged that the Corps would cater for all their medical expenses and other
welfare needs.

“He also condemned the bloody terrorist attack and described
it as a brutal and devastating act of violence which must not be allowed to
fester considering the number of security operatives that have fallen.”

The commandant-general also urged members of the public to
extend their support to the corps and other security agencies to enhance the
security of lives and property.
