Diverse Nominees Unveiled by Osun State House of Assembly, Including Former Aregbesola Commissioners

 

In an eagerly anticipated announcement, the Osun State House of Assembly has revealed the list of commissioner nominees put forward by Governor Ademola . This diverse group of individuals includes two former commissioners who served during the tenure of ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola, showcasing a blend of experience and fresh perspectives.

Speaker Adewale Egbedun took to the floor during the Friday plenary to read out the names as outlined in the letter received from Governor Adeleke. The nominees’ list demonstrates the governor’s commitment to selecting individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the state’s governance and development.

Among the notable nominees are Mr. Kolapo Alimi, who previously held the position of Commissioner for Local and Chieftaincy Affairs under the Aregbesola administration, and Mr. Biyi Odunlade, who served as and later Commissioner for Sports.

In addition to the former commissioners, Governor Adeleke has nominated a diverse array of individuals with expertise in various fields. The list includes Barr. Oladosu Babatunde, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Mr. Sesan Epharaim Oyedele, Mr. Soji Ajeigbe, Mr. Moshood Olagunju, Hon. George Alabi, Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, Mr. Abiodun Ojo, Dr. Basiru Salami, Mr. Morufu Ayofe, Mr. Sola Ogungbile, and Rev. Bunmi Jenyo.

The remaining nominees are Mrs. Ayo Awolowo, Barr. Wole Jimi Bada, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, Alh. Rasheed Aderibigbe, Prof. Morufu Adeleke, Mr. Adeyemo Ademola, Mr. Olabiyi Odunlade, Barr. Jola Akintola, Mr. Mayowa Adejorin, Mrs. Folashade Adeleke, Mr. Tola Faseru, and Alh. Ganiyu Olaoluwa.

To ensure a thorough evaluation of the nominees, the House of Assembly has established an Ad-Hoc Committee. This committee will conduct preliminary screenings before the nominees proceed to the House for a comprehensive screening and confirmation process. The assembly is committed to executing these procedures efficiently and promptly.
