Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed what he said to Ousmane Dembélé following Paris Saint-Germain’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Los Blancos in the Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
Dembélé was among the goalscorers as PSG comfortably defeated Xabi Alonso’s side at the MetLife Stadium. Fabian Ruiz and Gonçalo Ramos also found the net for Luis Enrique’s men in the rout of the Spanish LaLiga giants.
Speaking after the match, Courtois remarked on Dembélé’s intensity during the game. “I went to Dembélé, and I told him that he presses a lot,” Courtois said (via Madrid Zone).
He continued, “Our pressing and PSG’s pressing were so different. We didn’t press well.”
The Belgian admitted, “PSG suffocated us with their pressing.”
PSG will now face Courtois’ former club, Chelsea, in the Club World Cup final on Sunday.
