Enzo Maresca will serve a one-match touchline ban after his wild celebrations during Chelsea’s dramatic 2-1 win over Fulham earned him a third yellow card of the season.
The Chelsea boss was cautioned by referee Anthony Taylor following Pedro Neto’s 93rd-minute winner at Craven Cottage, which came just moments after Tyrique George equalised.
The win propelled the Blues to fifth place in the Premier League and kept their Champions League hopes alive.
Maresca, who had already been booked earlier this season against Bournemouth and Newcastle, now faces automatic suspension under FA disciplinary rules.
His conduct during the emotional finale saw the entire Chelsea bench spill onto the pitch in celebration, prompting the referee’s action.
“I was very happy,” Maresca said post-match. “It was a moment for the players to share with the fans… I celebrated, and that’s why I got the yellow.”
With Maresca sidelined, assistant coach Willy Caballero will assume touchline duties when Chelsea host Everton on Saturday.
Maresca will be relegated to a seat in the stands as the Blues push to solidify their top-four challenge.
