Following Pastor David Ibiyiomie’s recent remarks expressing his disdain for the Celestial Church of Christ and its worship practices, the church has firmly responded to refute his claims.
In a video that went viral, Pastor Ibiyiomie openly shared his dislike for white garment churches, particularly citing his objection to certain white garment prophets who allegedly engage in incantations using people’s names.
In response, the Celestial Church of Christ has vehemently denied the existence of such practices, emphasizing that their prophets strongly oppose alcohol consumption, contrary to Pastor Ibiyiomie’s allegations.
In an official statement, the church clarified the following:
“Pastor David Ibiyiomie of the Salvation Ministries expressed his hatred for white garment churches in a viral video. He specifically referred to ‘cele’ prophets who supposedly immerse the names of people’s children in alcoholic beverages while chanting incantations, predicting that these children would become alcoholics.”
“It’s important to note that ‘cele’ is not a general term for all white garment churches, as there are various denominations within this branch of worship. Therefore, only Pastor Ibiyiomie can speak to the specific white garment prophet he encountered involving his children’s names.”
“The Celestial Church firmly prohibits alcohol consumption, a principle communicated during every service in every parish. The church considers the odor of alcohol contradictory to the presence of the Holy Spirit, as stated in our constitution. Consequently, any genuine prophet within the Celestial Church opposes alcohol in all forms, both as a beverage and as a component of spiritual practices.”
“Additionally, after a comprehensive reading of the Bible, including the 150 Psalms, we have not identified any section that could be categorized as ‘demonic,’ as Pastor Ibiyiomie claimed. If there are concerns regarding the usage of Psalms, we encourage further study and interpretation based on sound biblical principles.”
