Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has stated that the wedding of Afrobeats star, Davido and his wife, Chioma offers a teachable moment to understand the difference between having wealth and being a celebrity.
In a post shared on X, Reno opined that celebrities have been getting married before but Nigerians have not seen the kind of effect Davido and Chioma’s wedding had. He stated that the occasion shut down Nigeria and broke the internet space because of the wealth that the family has amassed.
He wrote;
 ‘’Davido’s traditional wedding to Chioma yesterday offers us a teachable moment to understand the difference between wealth and celebrity. Why did the wedding shut down Nigeria and break the Internet? I don’t want to offend people, but celebrities have been getting married before today, and we have never seen such an effect.
The key difference this time around is wealth. When you have celebrity status, you will be celebrated but not necessarily elevated. But when you have celebrity and wealth, you will be celebrated and elevated. So the moral of the story is this: Focus on making money, not just on being a celebrity. Because, when you have serious money, you are automatically a celebrity, but you do not automatically have serious money just because you are a celebrity. I hope you get the drift?”
