Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) Denies DSS Raid Allegations: Fake News Dismissed
The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has categorically denied the recent claims that its offices were raided by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). In response to an online report suggesting that incriminating files related to Tinubu and his associates were removed from the ICPC and CCB, the CCB has refuted these allegations, labeling the publication as misleading.
Daniel Okafor, the CCB's Director of Education and Advocacy Services, expressed disappointment in the unprofessional manner in which the story was presented. However, he emphasized the need to address the issue to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Okafor stated, “The CCB wishes to state unequivocally that at no time did the DSS or any federal government apparatus carry out a raid or search for incriminating documents at our head office in Abuja or any of our offices across states and the FCT.” He further clarified that there was no directive from the federal government to cover up any matter related to the president and his associates, as claimed in the publication.
The CCB urges the general public to disregard the article as fake news, lacking any truth or evidence. The bureau assures Nigerians that, as a prominent anti-corruption agency, it remains committed to fulfilling its functions as outlined in the constitution.
