Chelsea assistant coach Willy Caballero has praised Enzo Maresca, calling him the most tactically prepared manager he has worked under in his career.
Speaking during Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign, Caballero pointed at Maresca’s attention to detail and ability to empower both players and coaching staff.
“I don’t think anyone is as well-prepared, tactically focused, and committed to training the fine details like Enzo,” Caballero said.
“He gives the players clear solutions and ensures the coaching staff feel involved. He gives us space to speak with the players and contribute during the week and on matchdays.”
The former Blues Premier League goalkeeper, who has worked under top-level managers throughout his career, said Maresca stands out for his leadership style.
“I’ve been lucky to work with many elite coaches, but Enzo is a top manager,” he added.
Caballero also emphasized Chelsea’s continued ambition under Maresca’s leadership, despite the club undergoing several changes in recent seasons.
“It’s simple, the ambition of the club hasn’t changed,” he said. “Yes, coaches and players come and go, but at Chelsea, the expectations remain the same.”
Chelsea are currently competing in the Club World Cup, with Maresca leading a new-look side focused on restoring the club’s standing in the competition.
