A Nigerian man has raised an alarm on social media, alleging that a Bolt driver attempted to set up his brother to be robbed.
The incident was shared via a post on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Disculpe__, who claimed that his brother narrowly escaped a robbery attempt the previous night.
According to him, his brother had ordered a ride through the Bolt app, but during the trip, the driver suddenly stopped the vehicle, claiming the car was overheating.
Moments later, three unknown men appeared from nowhere and allegedly tried to rob and possibly harm his brother.
He wrote: “Everyone, please be careful using Bolt. This driver tried to set my brother up last night claiming his car was overheating. Three men came out of nowhere to rob and almost kill him. @boltapp @BoltNigeria why do you keep employing thieves?”
The post has since sparked concerns online, with many calling on Bolt Nigeria to investigate the matter and improve passenger safety.
