Bimbo Ademoye, the acclaimed Nigerian actress, has recently shared her experience of being targeted by movie makers seeking to exploit her.
In an interview with the Sun Newspaper, Ademoye bravely disclosed how some moviemakers and producers attempted to leverage her body for certain roles, but she adamantly refused to comply.
She revealed that numerous moviemakers were insistent on offering her roles that made her uncomfortable. Specifically, they wanted her to portray characters such as the seductive secretary, the mistress who steals husbands, or the temptress who lures away boyfriends. However, Ademoye firmly rejected these roles, standing her ground.
“To be completely honest, everyone seemed to want to capitalize on my physical appearance. They all wanted me to play the role of the sexy secretary or the woman who snatched someone's husband or boyfriend. Thankfully, I consider myself very fortunate,” Ademoye expressed.
Ademoye credited her entry into the industry to Uduak Isong, who acted as a guiding figure and mentor. She emphasized that she never faced the predicament of compromising her integrity or engaging in any form of exchange for roles, emphasizing her commitment to maintaining professionalism throughout her career.
Isong, akin to a mother figure, played an instrumental role in Ademoye's journey, offering guidance and support during her early days in the industry.
