Former Big Brother Naija housemate and actress, Queen Mercy Atang, has shared her emotional experience as her daughter embarked on her first day of school.
The proud mother posted a touching video capturing the milestone moment, revealing that she became overwhelmed with emotions, broke down crying in her car, and prayed fervently for her little one.
In a heartfelt message, Queen gave a special shout-out to parents, calling them the “real MVPs” as she marveled at how they navigate the challenges of raising children. She disclosed that she couldn’t bring herself to leave the school premises and waited outside until the end of the day. When it was finally time to pick up her daughter, she rushed in with excitement.
Queen also admitted feeling completely disoriented, struggling even to decide what to prepare for her daughter’s lunch. Expressing gratitude to God for the new phase, the wife of David Oyekanmi described the experience as the true beginning of her motherhood journey — one she is ready to embrace wholeheartedly.
“My beautiful daughter’s @stargirl_keilah first day of school, and trust me, I wasn’t ready.
What started as excitement quickly turned into me crying in the car. I prayed and cried like never before. I have big respect to all the parents out there; you are the real MVPs. Please, how do you do it?
I literally waited outside the school the whole time until closing. And when it was time to pick up my princess, I flew in like lightning! It’s funny how I was just saying, “Thank God you’re starting school; I need my peace.” Suddenly, I didn’t want peace anymore.
I just wanted to be sure my baby was okay every single second.
Today, I finally understood why our parents have BP problems. From childbirth to raising a child to starting school this phase is no joke. Honestly, it’s enough to raise anyone’s blood pressure. God, please help us all.
Dear fellow mommies, the level of confusion I experienced today was unreal. I couldn’t even figure out what to cook for lunch for my girl. Please help your girl and drop some lunch ideas, I’m begging!
I’m so grateful to God for this journey. This feels like the true beginning of motherhood for me, and I’m ready to embrace it all. So help me God.
A big shoutout to my siblings, my strongest support system. God bless you both for me. Omo, na all of us gather go school ooh. Full squad vibes
Also, we were so late this morning that I wore my dress without ironing it. At this rate, I might just look like a mad woman every school day. Forgive me in advance. “
